我的家乡是杭州。现在的杭州和以前的杭州差距可大了！交通工具和建筑也大不相同。
听奶奶说我们家以前是在杭州的农村，到处都是菜地，上面种植的东西还挺多的：土豆、西红柿、青菜、青椒、大白菜等，农村里几乎没有什么高大的建筑，放眼望去，都是一片菜地。人们都靠种菜生活，农民早起勤耕作，归来戴月光很辛苦。但是，以前的风景也很不错。一排排柳树一座座石桥，加上一条条波光粼粼的小河，真像一幅美丽的画呀！别有一番风味，至少在我想象中我还是很喜欢的。小麻雀、小鸟都停在树上，叽叽喳喳的唱着歌，好像在对我们说：“你好啊！”蝴蝶、蜜蜂都在花丛里采蜜。
当然一代不如一代现在我们生活在大城市里，四周都是高楼大厦，百货超市，商场，房屋一片连着一片，很高大，就像连绵不断的山峰。
以前，有一辆自行车的人家也算富有了，一般人可是没有的。要去远的地方只能走山路，其实，走山路是很危险的。小朋友要去读书都要“翻山越岭”才能看到学校的影子。要是那时人们有个滑板车也好啊！每天放学回家都累的头上直冒汗珠，但是为了寻求知识谁也没有放弃，都不断地努力着。以前烧饭、做菜别以为很简单都要用柴火添加到炉子里烧，火并不是一按按钮就能起火的，就光砍个柴就很辛苦，什么机器都没有，要自己用斧头一点一点砍，为了填饱肚子，谁都心甘情愿地砍柴。以前的人还真是勤劳啊！
