用英文写读后感篇1

i watched alice in wonderland during the summer vacation.

the story mainly tells that a little girl named alice chased a talking white rabbit in her dream, fell into a rabbit hole, and thus entered a wonderful world and started a magical journey.

in this journey, alice grows bigger and smaller. she meets laughing chaiqun cats, crazy march rabbits, singing fake turtles, cruel queen of hearts and submissive king of hearts... he keeps exploring until he finally wakes up. later, alice dreamed and came to the fantasy world in the mirror. she began her second adventure on a huge chess board. she started from a pawn, walked forward step by step, and met different people and different things. finally, alice finally came to the eighth, and she also became a queen! when alice woke up, he still didn't know whether it was his dream or the dream of the red king.

when i first read alice in wonderland, i felt very interesting and fresh. alice's dream is strange, absurd, but interesting, full of all kinds of strange fantasies: a body that can grow bigger and smaller, a poker that can form a kingdom, a mirror that can penetrate, a hemerocallis that can speak in the world, and so on. all this is like a colorful dream, which deeply attracts me and makes me imagine that i am alice, who has entered the wonderful world. it is very enjoyable.

the protagonist of alice in wonderland is a very cute little girl. she is naive, lively and full of curiosity. she also has a compassion to distinguish right from wrong. in alice, we can see that the nature of children and the whole story is full of fantasy, and alice is so cute and innocent. after reading this book, my imagination will also be greatly improved.

whether it's alice, who i admire, or the queen of hearts, who i remember deeply, i think as long as i get happiness in books, it's a harvest. i read, i'm happy!

用英文写读后感篇2

oliver twist, one of the most famous works of charles dickens’, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in britain in 18th century. the author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in london. the hero of this novel was oliver twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. he suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. while reading the tragic experiences of the little oliver, i was shocked by his sufferings.

i felt for the poor boy, but at the same time i detested the evil fagin and the brutal bill. to my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and oliver lived a happy life in the end. one of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of mrs. maylie and rose and began a new life. he went for walks with them, or rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. he felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty. how can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind the reason is the nature of goodness. i think it is the most important information implied in the novel by dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. although i don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet i do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded. for me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. goodness is to humans what water is to fish. he who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person.

on the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘the fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. people receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself. to my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. they look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. as a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. on the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. in their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. if they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. they are one of the sorts that i really detest. francis bacon said in his essay, ‘goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’

that is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything. therefore, i, a kind person, want to tell those ‘vermin-to-be’ to learn from the kind oliver and regain the nature of goodness.

the little prince ndash; a tale of love and life

title: the little prince

author: antoine de st-exupery

main characters: the little prince, the pilot, the rose, the fox, the snake, etc.

despite irsquo;ve not in my childhood yet, i still prefer reading fairy-tale stories. the tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me think of some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. this summer irsquo;ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. itrsquo;s the world-famous fairy-tale by the french author, antoine de st-exupery, the little prince.

as many other fairy-tales, the outline of the little prince is not very complex. “i”, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has something wrong and lands in the sahara. in this occasion, the pilot makes the acquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet, the asteroid b612. the little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because he has some quarrel with a rose, which grows on his planet. in that case he left his own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.

on his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds of people, which includes a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. from these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd. following the instruction of the geographer, he descends in the sahara, on the earth.

traveling on the earth, the little prince, who sees a garden of five-thousand roses, is overcome with astonishment and sadness, as he considers his rose is unique in the universe before. at that time a fox appears. the fox, who tell the little prince about the meaning of the word “tame”, becomes his new friend. at the time to say farewell, the fox makes him know that his rose is unique because she is his rose and tamed by him. from that the little prince begins to treasure friendship and be responsible to his rose.

at the anniversary day of his descent of the earth, rejecting the pilotrsquo;s advice, he goes back to his own planet by bite of a snake. “itrsquo;s too far. i can not carry this body with me. itrsquo;s too heavy.” he said. he tells his friend, the pilot, he must be responsible for his rose, so he has to go back. at the end the author doesnrsquo;t tell us the ending directly. maybe itrsquo;s more significant for us to imagine, and for more, think over.

one of the important characters is the rose. growing on the planet, she is very beautiful, but her coquetry and vanity suffer the little prince a lot. in spite of they love each other, he soon becomes unhappy. on the time of his departure, he just knows she certainly loves him. the character of the little prince actually represents the children, and their native thoughts and deeds. on the contrary, the inhabitants on the other planets, such as the king, the businessman and the conceited man, they also reflect the defects in the grown-uprsquo;s world. the real theme of this fairy-tale with a little sadness, i guess, is the consequence of pure love and friendship in our lives, but not others “matters of consequence” of the grown-ups.

unbelievable, this little book moved me a lot. i seldom think about the true meaning of love and life before. well, now i can say, with my short sixteen-yearrsquo;s life experience, itrsquo;s like the stars in the sky that lit my heart. the little prince is not only an ordinary fairy-tale for children, but also for grown-ups, and our teenagers. nevertheless, when i read this book, i feel a little sad ndash; about ourselves, whom are losing more and more innocence

用英文写读后感篇4

it's long long ago, maybe before i can read english books. i don't remember which movie edition i had seen. but i was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. i was very favor of a section of music in its balls. it's

pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. regarding to the characters, i liked elizabeth, the heroine, though i didn't think she's beautiful. but she's smart. however, i didn't pay much attention to the plot. i thought it's so long that it made me impatient and bored. by now, i haven't read the whole story in english or its chinese version, either. i owe it to my prejudice.

in fact, i didn't understand the story at that time. i didn't know why it called pride and prejudice. of course someone was pride, but i didn't find where' s the prejudice. i thought it's normal, the way people treated each other in that. i considered prejudice would be very disgusting.

those beautiful flowers

---book review: “camille” i read the chinese version of“camille” a few years ago. at that time i was deeply moved by themain character marguerite gautier. “camille” or “the lady of thecamellias” by alexandre dumas, fils, is the story of margueritegautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in paris in the mid1800s, and how she falls in love with a young man, armand duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. unfortunately,it comes back to haunt her and she ends up returning to that lifeand dies painfully and alone, but with the knowledge that she was anoble woman at heart.

when i first began to read the book, i didnot care for marguerite or her attitude or lifestyle, but as i gotfurther into the narrative, i realized that her saucy attitude wasa front to cover the lonely woman that she really was. she feltused, abused and unloved, until the gentle armand duval came intoher life and showed her that he loved her as a person and not forwhat she could do for him. it must have taken great courage formarguerite to leave the life she had lived for so long, knowing allalong that it was probably too good to be true and would not lastindefinitely. and it also showed that marguerite really lovedarmand duval for she could even change herself for him. however, happiness didn’t lastfor long.

when m. duval, armands father, came to her, pleading forher to leave armand to save both armands reputation and that ofhis younger innocent sister, marguerite saw a way to become pure ofheart, if not in body. she felt that it was her duty, because sheloved armand so much, to do this even though it meant giving up herown happiness and hurting armand temporarily. she reluctantlyreturned to her former life, knowing that some day armand wouldforgive her. sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, exceptfor her one female friend, julie duprat, who helped her during herillness. she had her journal sent to armand after her death, explaining why she had made the choices she had. i think dumasslast few lines about marguerite being the exception, not the rulewere quite true, and i also agreed with his view that while herlifestyle could not be condoned, we as a society assume that all ofthese type of women are cold and heartless, while this may notalways be the case.

a person can make the wrong choices in lifewhen they are young, and try to redeem themselves, but sometimespast situations prevent them from changing their lives, even thoughthey desperately wish to do so. this applies to both men and womenin many different types of circumstances: involvement in crime;drug or alcohol abuse; gambling; prostitution; financial problems;poor marriage choices; etc. and this is the fact, which exists inthe whole society. as far as the other charactersin the book, i think marguerite was right in saying that no onetruly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the onlyexceptions being armand and julie duprat. of course, the comte deg. and comte de n. wanted her body and appearance. the duke neededto “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could neverreplace his dead daughter.

if he truly cared, he could have helpedher leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. and lastly, prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used marguerite almost worsethan the men. i also think she was jealous of the fact thatmarguerite had so much more courage than herself and someone trulyloved her.last morning, when tiding my bookshelf, i took this book out of theshelf, and a dried flower flew away from the book. it was paleblue, very transparent, with thin fine veins. a dried flower flewaway from the book. it was pale blue, very transparent, with thinfine veins. i held it against the morning light and blew on it. thesoft breeze carried it away. camille is just likethe camellia, she could never escape from the destiny of withering.but it wasn’t her faut; it’s because of the evil of capitalism andthe hideousness of that society.

suddenly, i remembered asaying: “women are like the flowers”. those pretty women are likethose beautiful flowers; their delicate beauty makes people feelthey are the miracle of life. however, even the god envies theirbeauty. it seems that beautiful women always have tragic endings.as we are normal persons, even we can see the hideousness ofhumanity that results in their fate of withering, we can at mostask quietly in our hearts: where have those beautiful flowers gone?where have they gone?
